11. SMS Event Reminders

If you sign up for SMS event reminders, this is what we collect and how we use it.

• What we collect: your mobile number, your email address, the date and time you agreed, the wording you agreed to, and where on our site you signed up.

• Why: to send you a weekly SMS listing tech events in Ghana, and occasional announcements about events we run or support. We use your email only to confirm your sign-up and to reach you about your subscription. We never sell your details or use them for anything else.

• Consent: we only text you after you tick the consent box and confirm your number with a one-time code. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

• How often: about one SMS a week, plus the occasional announcement.

• Who processes it: messages are sent through our SMS provider, SasuSync, which receives your number only to deliver our messages. Sign-up forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're not a bot. Our records are stored in Google Firebase.

• How to stop: visit kweku.tech/stop and enter your number. The link is at the end of every SMS. We stop texting you straight away.

• How long we keep it: while you're subscribed. Twelve months after you unsubscribe, we delete your number and email. Delivery records are deleted after 90 days.

• Your rights: under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you can ask to see, correct or delete your details. Email info@kweku.tech and we'll respond within 30 days.
